Chemistry for that Healthy Glow!
Apple Cider Vinegar
Vinegar used a final rinse after shampooing the hair, and sometimes used before conditioning to seal the cuticle since the ph (acidity) is close to that of natural hair.
Apricot oil
Apricot kernel oil can be used to nourish scalp and prevent hair loss by strengthening hair follicles. Often a major ingredient included in commercial hair care products, apricot oil can be purchased at your health food, to put 100% pure essential oil on your tresses.
glycerin
We recommend caution in the use of glycerin. Glycerin can draw water, and instead of sealing water into the hair to protect from drying, it can draw moisture from the hair when the room humidity is low.
Jojoba Oil -
Known as nature's multi-tasker, jojoba oil has countless uses for the hair and skin, which it quickly penetrates to moisturize without leaving an oily residue. For centuries, Native Americans of the great Southwest extracted this oil from the seeds of the desert jojoba shrub.
Add a few drops to hands. Massage into scalp to relieve dryness.
Deep Conditioning Treatment for Hair
Pour a quarter-sized amount of oil into hands. Smooth over damp hair, applying most of oil to ends. Leave on for 5-10 minutes. Shampoo out and style as usual. To help tame split ends, rub one or two drops into your hand and then apply to ends of your hair. Apply while hair is still damp to help smooth frizzies.
Olive Oil - Extra Virgin
An oil used to seal moisture in after applying a conditioner or before a shampoo as a hot oil treatment.
Petroleum products: vaseline, mineral oil, baby oil, are NOT
healthy choices for your hair. You will need to use a clarifying shampoo
to get it out of your hair.
